The 10th Annual Margarita Taste Off was record breaking! The Candlelighters of Houston raised more than $85,000!!! Proceeds raised benefit Candlelighters, a local nonprofit that provides everyday support to children with cancer and their families receiving treatment in the Texas Medical Center. Guests sampled and voted for their favorite margaritas while enjoying a beautiful day at Kirby Ice House. To get involved please contact Kelsey at kelseyt@candle.org! I must admit that I kept going back and visiting The Palm, that coconut margarita was my favorite! In fact, first thing I did when I got home was recreate it! My Coconut Lime Margarita recipe can be found here. Stop by the Palm located at 6100 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77057, to try their 1st place award winning margarita yourself!! UPDATE: Made a call and they just added it to their menu!

The Grove took home 2nd place and were visited by celebrity guest judge Kareem Jackson of the Houston Texans!!! You can visit them downtown at 1611 Lamar St. Houston, TX 77010.

Eight Row Flint took home third place! Visit them during these hot summer months and enjoy a frozen one in the Heights located at 1039 Yale St, Houston, TX 77008. They were also just voted the Best Bar in Houston by the Manual Awards 2018.

No surprise that El Tiempo made it to the top of our list again this year! I mean come on it’s El Tiempo, they made a beautiful Rosalinda margarita! It was almost too pretty to drink! And the hot pink salt was a nice touch! They have several Houston locations, visit them for their happy hour, trust me you won’t be disappointed!

Newcomers Line & Lariat won the prize for Most Exotic Flavored Margarita Flavor – if you grew up on chamoy like I did, you get it! Visit them downtown inside Hotel Icon located at 220 S. Main St. Houston, TX 77002. Celebrity Judge Melissa Wilson – Fox 26 Houston stopped by with her hub to sip on their mango with chamoy margaritas!
