Smoky, slow cooker black eyed peas. Vegan and gluten free.
Ingredients
12 oz pre soaked black eyed peas
½ lb baby carrots, cut in half
1.5 cups white onions chopped
2 tsp Cholula hot sauce
½ tsp liquid smoke
½ tsp sea salt
½ tsp freshly ground pepper
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp garlic powder
8 cups water
Instructions
Place black eyes peas, carrots, and onions, into slow cooker. Cover with water until it just covers the ingredients. You may have to play around with the amount of water depending on the size of your slow cooker.
Season with Cholula hot sauce, liquid smoke, sea salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
Slow cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 6.
