Mexi-Cali Mixer at Fusion Taco
When the Mex-Cali Mixer came up on my Insta feed, I was sold, I mean seriously look at how adorable the e-invite is!! A cute pop up shop with vintage Mexican dresses, tacos, and a complimentary margarita – say no more. I gathered my best chicas and we showed up ready to eat some tacos and sip on some margs for the sacred Texas tradition that is #tacotuesday at Fusion Taco Heights.
The tacos at their Heights location were only $3 during their happy hour! They also offer $5 margaritas, $4 micheladas, and $3 beers from 3-7 pm daily. The taco portions are right for the price, I could eat 3 and still have room for some chips and red salsa to share! Bummed the chips and salsa aren’t free, but I loved the smoky flavor of their roasted homemade salsa. The chips are not too thin, and with just the right amount of grease and salt, I will gladly pay the $3.25. I personally liked the taste of their frozen margarita better than their on the rocks, which was sweeter and slightly tangier. Their extensive menu of famous tacos and more can be found here.
Allison Bagley hosted the event and brought several vintage Mexican dresses and trinkets for customers to shop while they sipped. You can follow her via Insta @editorallison if you’re interested in seeing more!
The beautiful cookies were made by @cakesandcookiesbyclau, and they were almost too pretty to eat! The extremely talented Clau Almaguer can be reached via her website here. Her hand crafted cookies are highly sought after, and I promise you they taste just as good as they look!
